​Thomas The Tank Engine Weekend

Join us in Newton St Cyres Village Hall to celebrate
The 80th anniversary of The Rev W Awdry’s Railway Series featuring Thomas the Tank Engine.


Saturday 15 March @4pm:
A FREE illustrated talk. Meet Veronica Chambers, daughter of The Rev Awdry on what inspired her father to write ‘Thomas & Friends’ and how 80 years later the books still inspire a new generation.

Veronica and her son, Mark, who lives at Sherwood House, will be delighted to meet and talk about their memories – and have some ‘Thomas’ trains and track in the church to enjoy.

Saturday 15 March @7pm:

The EXETER RAILWAY BAND will perform popular classics and marches to celebrate the 80 the anniversary of ‘Thomas & Friends’.
The band was formed in 1944 and has gone from success to success!



(Tickets £8 in advance, £10 on the door –children free!). Interval refreshments.
