Newton St Cyres Mah Jong Club

NEW CLUB TAKES OFF.

Two things happened earlier this year.  Firstly, an appeal in Newton Wonder from Parish Council Chairman, David Baker for more clubs to be formed in the village.  Secondly, a note in the same issue asking if anyone was interested in learning/playing Mah Jong.
This second item resulted in a healthy flow of replies, and, as a resultof this, an inaugural meeting was held on 25th May and attended by 15 people.  Since then we have had a meeting once a month and have developed our skills.  Very few of us had had any previous experience but have all become competent players.  It is not a difficult game to learn but requires some thought to be succesful thus exercising one's brain.  Beginners are always welcome and will be given inividual tuition before joining the group.  Contact Geoff Jackson for more information and the date of the next meeting.
We hope you are pleased David!
